Matthew Celentano joined Funk & Bolton in December 2017. As a member of our Government Relations team, he provides lobbying and outreach to Maryland government officials on behalf of clients including the insurance industry and their policyholders, nonprofits, local governments, and other Fortune 500 companies, and entities requiring representation before the Maryland General Assembly.
In addition to communicating directly with State legislators and their staff on pending legislation, Matt has expertise on matters relating to insurance regulation in Maryland and works closely with the Maryland Insurance Administration on such matters, in addition to a variety of Maryland state agencies. He serves on policy workgroups to ensure that client interests are understood and considered by policymakers. He is the Executive Director of the State trade associations that the Firm represents, including The League of Life & Health Insurers of Maryland and the Alliance of Maryland Dental Plans.
Matt’s lobbying skills and relationships in the Maryland General Assembly provide crucial insights across all teams at Funk & Bolton. He joined our Firm after serving for 16 years as the Deputy Director of Maryland Citizens’ Health Initiative, an organization focused on the interests of health care consumers.
Matt earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Vermont. He was head wrangler, rodeo amateur, and fly fishing guide at a guest ranch in rural Wyoming in a previous life.
