Mary E. McGrath

Mary E. McGrath is Senior Counsel to Funk & Bolton in the Insurance Regulation practice group located in the firm's Baltimore office. Ms. McGrath's practice focuses on counseling insurers on insurance coverage across all business lines, avoidance of extra-contractual liability, fraud, commercial litigation, commercial transactions, and regulatory law.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. McGrath spent eighteen years as in-house counsel to the Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland and the Zurich American Insurance Company. During that time she gained extensive knowledge in advising insurers on insurance coverage, commercial transactions, extra-contractual liability, complex litigation, and regulatory matters. Over the course of her career, Ms. McGrath has taken the lead in resolving complex fidelity, surety, directors and officers, and professional liability claims. She has also managed multi-million-dollar class action litigation and worked with regulatory authorities to resolve alleged procedural violations. Ms. McGrath is experienced in developing new insurance products, drafting policy language, and obtaining regulatory approval.

Ms. McGrath has presented in-house training on a variety of topics, including litigation risk analysis, developments in case law, and extra-contractual exposures. She has also participated in a number of leadership development courses.

Ms. McGrath is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association.
